NIGERIAN POLITICAL PARTY

We have political parties in my country, names, I do not know.

I know not what political party means and, the leaders know not also.

Like shindig they always organize themselves,

Day by day, they put our country in no change.

Our Nigerian party, structure, ideology, composition and funding record zero,

Yet, they crusade in places agitating on how to put Nigerian in so called change more so.

Each day, I wonder what party we would put our votes.

Year after year, our vote count not nor make leaders sage.

Here, the change card comes, placing politicians’ position,

With only the ruling banners everywhere but, others called nuisance,

Even, pasted where law prohibits but that law, now not work or on vacation.

Day by day, they put our country in no change.

In the parties, suits, fighting, killings and blessed with assassination.

Oh! What a country, with an institution of winner-takes-all menace,          

Will there be hope again? Is there a future for our generation?

Year after year, our vote count not nor make leaders sage.
